Ecclesiastes 8: 8
There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.
Seldom does anyone quote from this book? Oddly, since Solomon is noted as the wisest man to have lived. Proverbs are often being quoted, yet Ecclesiastes is overlooked. I would encourage you to read the above verse over again and really ponder it.
It would seem to me that these words ring true for the times in which we are living. I can think of several verses that echo these truths
If ever there was a time to take stock of where you are in your walk with God, may I suggest that now is the time to take a good look at yourself and ask a few questions.
As the righteous judgments of God begin to unfold, don’t find yourself lacking. Now is the time to get right with God.
No material possessions that you have or hope to have are worth sacrificing for eternal peace with your creator. Spend time with the one who truly loves you no matter what.
